No one…really! A “flake” is an ACTION, not a PERSON!
“Flake” is the (somewhat unfortunate) mystery shopping industry term for “fell through.” It refers to a mystery shop that is not completed by the Due Date without the scheduler being notified in advance.
Flakes put schedulers in a very bad position, since it is a scheduler’s responsibility to cover every shop, every month. Our clients won’t accept any excuses for shops that aren’t completed on time, so we don’t have the luxury of letting things slide…especially near the end of the month.
Unless a scheduler has heard from a shopper with a request for an extension before the Due Date, the shop must be immediately reposted in order to stay on schedule. The difference between a “flake” and a legitimate reason is partially based on when we’re notified.
Thanks to all our shoppers who unfailingly meet Due Date requirements – we are very grateful!
